City wants more roads

To further intensify the city government's efforts to provide more roads to the city's residents, Councilor Jose Daluz is asking the city council to authorize Mayor Tomas Osmeña to enter into a contract or negotiate with land owners over parcels of lot in various areas in the city.

In separate proposed resolutions to be discussed by the council tomorrow, Daluz cited three parcels of land owned by a certain Wilfredo Saceda, a lot owned by Woolbright Corporation, and another one owned by spouses Alfredo and Natividad Cabrera.

The lot owned by Saceda has an area of 7,349 square meters and will be affected by the proposed road opening at KAFBRASS V. Rama Avenue to Katipunan-A.Lopez Streets, thus, Daluz said it is but proper that Osmeña be authorized to negotiate with the lot owner for the acquisition of the portion of the property that will be affected by the opening of a road.

The lot owned by Woolbright Corporation has an area of 253 square meters and said to be suitable as a road-right-of-way. Daluz would like the city council to authorize Osmeña to enter into a Deed of Donation with the company's president, Gilbert Woolbright, for the lot to be donated to the city government.

On the other hand, the city government intends to purchase a portion of the lot owned by spouses Alfredo and Natividad Cabrera with an area of 497 square meters, which the general public is presently using as access road going to barangays Buhisan, Toong, and Pamutan.
