App-grade: Email Managers for the 'droid

CEBU, Philippines - Aqua Mail - an easy to configure and easy to use email app that comes with enhanced functions for account and message management.

Developed by Kostya Vasilyev, Aqua Mail is an easy-to-use, easy-to-configure email manager for Android-driven mobiles, capable of handling multiple email accounts in one go.

Made with the user's convenience in mind, the app supports a number of standard email protocols, making it configurable to work with the connectivity and security standards of corporate email accounts, just as it seamlessly works with the popular email services of Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and more.

Lightweight in the consumption of a device's hardware resources, the app also allows users to conveniently save/store attachments to local storage media, as well as simplifies the "chore" in attaching files to messages.

K-9 Email - a well-designed email app that comes with functional features and in-app highlights.

Just like Aqua Mail, K-9 Email affords Android users with a mobile email manager that can handle multiple email accounts, along with support for message attachment management tasks.

Developed by K-9 Dog Walkers, the app is notorious for its minimalist clean-cut look - a look that simply defines it as a no-nonsense email manager that gets the job done with the least amount of fuss.

Open source, the app is a community developed project that takes its time in being of service to those who need to read or send emails using their mobiles.

MailDroid - an app that, to certain extent, combines all the positive points of Aqua Mail and K-9 Email, though its most recent version, the Version 3.27, still does not support ActiveSync.

Developed by Flipdog Solutions, MailDroid was originally made with mobile data connectivity in mind, making it a truly mobile-immersed email manager.

Featuring "split screen" functions for tablets, calendar integration features and support for "threaded" emails/conversations, the app also comes with a Spam Filter Plug-in for premium users, spell check functions, and configurable support for signatures, tones and LED color notifications (handset model dependent).

MailDroid users can also readily configure their inboxes to match with their preferences, just as the app comes with built-in support for popular cloud storage services like Google Drive, Box.net and Dropbox. (FREEMAN)
