Birthdays Galore!

It was a double celebration for Fely Salimbangon and her youngest son Ken whose birthday dates were very close. Besides, Fely's siblings from Hong Kong were all here and were scheduled to leave the day after. So, Fely's birthday was moved to Ken's.

As usual, venue was the Yeung's gardens. Fely did not get a caterer but had her cook and Kit's prepare the 12 varieties of food. Oh, so yummy and marvelous, plus a round tableful of sinful desserts and of course, wines to boot.

Entertainment were songs from the singing doctor, Warfe Engracia, Visayan songs rendered by the BCM ladies, and Broadway songs by Freddie Salimbangon. It was an evening full of fun and laughter…with the weather cooperating so well!

Ambassador Frank Benedicto hosted lunch at the Grand Convention Center for Sam Costanilla, a very dear friend of Ambassador Frank. Selected media friends were invited to this congenial gathering. Actually, Ambassador Benedicto has been doing this lunch for Sam the last five years now. Truly a friend, indeed!

It was for a very good reason: Virgie "Mama Gie" Costales hosted that dinner for youngest son Volks Costales when he visited family and friends recently. He breezed into town after eight long years' stay in Houston, Texas. Volks, with a tinge of blood as a Boholano, took a day visiting kith and kin before going back to his new home in Texas. Second reason Mama Gie's dinner served as advanced birthday and despedida fete for son Volks.
