Cathay Pacific Cebu welcomes new manager...

CEBU, Philippines - It was a balmy day for cocktails in the hills above Cebu when Cathay Pacific Country Manager Philippines Martin Xu bid a fond farewell to Manager Cebu Maggie Wong together with the staff of Cathay's Cebu office.

Maggie, who has been in Cebu for a year, will be leaving to take up the position of Manager for Cathay's Cargo Sales in Hong Kong beginning in August.

Although she is looking forward to the new challenge, she says she will miss Cebu, including the beaches and the mangoes, but most especially, the friends and colleagues she has met who have made her stay here an unforgettable one.

Martin Xu also took the opportunity during the cocktails, to welcome Grace Ho, who will be taking over the reins in the Cebu office.

Ms. Ho, who is currently the Assistant Manager for Developments & Standards in Cathay's Inflight Services Department, is excited with her new post, and looks forward to working with all departments in the Cebu office.

She says, "The presence of Cathay Pacific in ports outside Hong Kong is always like a novel of history. While this novel turns a new page with 20 years of history in Cebu, I am excited to embark on this journey together with my team, valuable customers and partners. Hopefully we will reach a higher summit with the strong support in this community."

Present to send Maggie off were friends from the travel community in Cebu who were pleased to say hello to Grace as well. These included travel agents, cargo forwarders, hoteliers, the airline's frequent flyers, media friends and other partners in the industry.

To make the affair more special, Manny Osmena of Manny O wines, himself a Cathay Pacific frequent flyer, offered his award winning wines to all guests that night, to the delight of the guests.

So as Cathay Pacific makes history, marking its 20th year in Cebu, it welcomes the opportunity for change which can only bring more good things to Cebu.

With this, we say Farewell Maggie and Welcome, Grace!
