Skechers introduces new minimalistic lightweight running lines

CEBU, Philippines -  Keeping up with the fast growing new trend in the city, Skechers USA, Inc., a global leader in the footwear industry, introduces in Cebu its latest innovations – the Skechers Go Run and the Skechers ProSpeed SRR. Active enthusiasts and serious athletes are in for a treat with these new minimalistic lightweight running lines.

Weighing just 5.9 ounces and having a 4mm drop, the Skechers Go Run features revolutionary mid-foot strike technology and Go Impulse sensors for enhanced sensory feedback. It has a barefoot last that is wider through the ball of the foot with a lower heel drop that moves the center of pressure forward. Go Impulse circular sensors on the outsole are positioned where impact points are greatest and are designed to provide traction, stability and reaction to the terrain. The Go Run also has a SmartShoe™ curved bottom that promotes natural motion, proprietary Resalyte injection molded cushioning with memory retention, and an OrthoLite anti-microbial sockliner that fights micro bacteria which causes odor.

The Skechers ProSpeed SRR, on the other hand, primarily features the patented SmartShoe™ Technology, the rocker-bottom that guides runners into mid-foot strike position. It steers the body into a position that transforms the energy of impact, through the Kinetic Return System, into forward motion with every stride. The Skechers ProSpeed SRR is also lightweight due to the Resalyte™ cushioning with memory retention that reduces impact for a supported, comfortable ride during runs. Depending on the size, the ProSpeed comes in just under 10 oz. per shoe.

No less than elite runner and Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi endorses the Skechers Fitness performance footwear and apparel in a worldwide multiple-medium marketing campaign, along with actress and dancer Brooke Burke. Meb achieved a new personal best time of 2:09:13 and was the fastest American at the 2011 ING New York City Marathon, wearing Skechers Go Run racing footwear.

In the country, running has become a popular pastime and Cebu has proven not only energetically active but also assertively competitive as manifested in the recently held Third Cebu City Marathon last January 8, 2012 at IT Park, where Skechers Go Run was featured.

Whether it is recreational running or professional competition, comfort, durability and efficiency are always key factors to arrive at a rewarding running experience. The Skechers Go Run and the Skechers ProSpeed SRR provides good shoe choices to help improve running skills for both hardcore athletes and running hobbyists. (FREEMAN)
