This unique and modern concept of having your child grow up with an item from birth onwards, makes a very practical way of saving you time and most especially money. As your baby reaches a particular stage in life, without having to go out of your way to make new purchases, these baby convertibles are designed to adjust their size and purpose. Another upside is that they also help accommodate the changing needs of your growing child in structure, while at the same time keeping comfortable as your child has become accustomed to them.
One of the most popular is the cost-effective crib/cot to bed or playpen convertible. One I can recommend, which come in different colors, is the Danish wooden craft, the Bimbo Bello range that can be used from birth until roughly 7 years old. Its features include a mattress size of 132 x 71cm, safety teething rail on both sides of the crib and four adjustable bed heights, as well (see photo for the conversion process).
Constant traveling (or even just a trip outside of the house) with your infant makes owning a pram to a buggy/stroller convertible a huge necessity. Enabling you a wonderful way of handling your child, worth mentioning are the Pacific and Pluto models from the ICOO brand, which are available in many fancy colours. They can also double as a high chair, can be front or rear facing and have an adjustable angle, depending on the age of your child for a lying down or more upright position.
Your standard feeding chair won’t last you for very long since babies grow up fast. A popular item called the Tripp Trapp chair (see photo), known as the chair that grows with the child (from 6 months onwards to adulthood) created by Peter Opsvik for Stokke is one of the most modern designs you will find around. Other Stokke items I recommend is the changing table that enables you to transform it into a desk, bookshelf or a multipurpose table, which a child can certainly keep for a lifetime.
Playing a huge role on your child’s safety are the evolving baby car seats from 0+ onwards, designed by Chicco. I can recommend the Proxima or Eletta models with approved safety standards that are designed in a way to accommodate your child from birth, with ingenious inserts and adjustable constraints.
Having multiple purposes, items such as these are sensible while very stylish at the same time. Cleverly created, they almost remind me of the Swedish design store Ikea. You can find most of these items anywhere – online, in local shops such as Baby Company, Rustan’s (some items listed above are available to order) or even department stores and other personalized baby shops. These everyday use items are an absolute necessity and no money is wasted!
