PARKLANE'S Dalit sa Sugbu-anon

CEBU, Philippines - May 15 is red letter day for Cebu Parklane International Hotel as it churns out three activities for Cebuanos in commemoration of its late president Manuel G. Ting’s birth date.

Collectively dubbed as Dalit sa Sugbu-anon, the line-up consists of a fun run – Hunat Sugbu: Dagan Para Ni Maning, a medical mission and the launch of its Cebuano specialty restaurant Kan-anan.

Mr. Ting, having been a health buff, served as the inspiration for organizing the Hunat Sugbu which has two race categories only: 5 kilometers and 15K. It will commence at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces at 5:30AM with a registration fee of P250 inclusive of a singlet and race kit. Attractive prizes await the finishers.

To follow at 8AM is the medical mission in partnership with the Jesu Cristi Community of Cebu Manna-Ministry to be held at the hotel’s open parking area across the façade. Philippine Association of Family Physicians members and consultants are also in full support of this endeavor in rendering free medical services to the locals. The Operation Tuli is another highlight of this med mission.

Kan-anan’s opening is nothing but an apt night cap as guests feast on Cebuano specialties like lansyaw, balbakuwa, pochero (special), buwad, sinugba, among many others. Mr. Ting was a fan of the local cuisine, so that Kan-anan (located at the 4th floor) is in fact a tribute to the late Cebuano foodie.
