CEBU, Philippines - We've heard them all, we've seen them all and we've zipped them all.
When someone opens up a zipline adventure park, everything is always the first, the longest and the scariest. When you visit Dahilayan Adventure Park in Bukidnon, you missed out the part where it's the beautiful-est, the green-est, the newest and the grandest.
Since its launch in 2009, the Dahilayan Adventure Park now has horseback riding, mini-boat ski ride, wall climbing, All-Terrain Vehicle rides, Zorb balls, rope course challenges and more. Their 150, 320 and longest 840-meter zipline rides at maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour at the foot of Kitanglad Mountain Range totally surpassed Camp Sabros Zipline of Digos, Davao del Sur, which is currently offering an 820-meter zipline ride.
Shake off all inhibitions and stage this gung-ho you on a foggy terrain (yes, the foggier, the scarier) over 4,700 feet above sea level and slide away to lush greenery while hoping to dodge the 20,000 pine trees. You would feel confident about the locally designed equipment and the imported harnesses. You can't help but shake the feeling that everything is safe! The 320-line was meant to warm up customers into what lies ahead. The 840-meter zipline is something else. With dual cables, Asia's longest zipline will plunge you headfirst (or feet first) with a partner who will eventually not mind taking a photo of you screaming your lungs out. The screams take a while and my sister had to gasp for air until she can scream again. My friends, that's how long that 840-meter line will take you.
Elpidio M. Paras, an engineer and owner of Zip Zone Dahilayan Adventure Park, was right when he said he aimed to have Asia's longest zipline. Dahilayan Park offers a Day Tour Package of P1,200.00 per person inclusive of three zipline rides, roundtrip shuttles from Cagayan de Oro to Dahilayan, set lunch and snacks. Family members have also put Forest Park, Cowboy Grill and The Botanica next to it. Ideally, they were built to provide a different dining experience in Dahilayan Adventure Park.
How to get there: From Cagayan de Oro, take the Davao-Bukidnon Highway, right on the Alae Junction, proceed 25 kilometers to Barangay Dahilayan past Camp Philipps and the pineapple fields via Mampayag. The park is open everyday including public holidays from 9AM to 3PM. Major credit cards are accepted.
