Clarson and Khristina

CEBU, Philippines - The couple first met in July 2007 at Teletech, where Khristina “Tina,” daughter of Engr. Francisco and Dra. Wilhelmina Ty and Clarson, son of Clarito and Ofelia Fruelda currently work. “How do you explain technical concepts to trainees who are not technical and give a sample,” was the first question asked of Clarson at a job interview conducted by Tina herself. Three years after they met, they formally chose to spend the rest of their lives together.

This beautiful and blissful turquoise wedding celebration was held at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral with Bishop Isabelo Abarquez, D.D. as the officiating priest. The principal sponsors included Engr. Philip Abellana and Dr. Florentina Ty, Dr. Leonard Raymund Cimafranca and Pacita Tseng, Segundino Fortich and Dra. Eufemia Pangan, Dr. Wyben Briones and Dra. Fe Merin, Atty. Santos Catubay Jr. and Dra. Catalina Catubay, Dr. Julito Catubay and Mrs. Editha Cortes, Mr. Gerry Sta. Ana and Ms. Jane Franco, Atty. Fernando Yu and Ms. Jane Panganiban.

The couple chose designer Dino Lloren for the bridal and entourage gowns. Dr. Francis Edward Ty was the best man and Noreen Tseng Fernandez was the maid of honor. Gerard Narz Jovenal Catubay, Ronald James Ty, Dr. Fritz Gerald Abellana, John Michael Catubay and Santos Justiniano Normando Catubay were the dashing groomsmen each paired with a bridesmaid, Nina Charisse Fruelda, Pamela Liz Abellana, Patrice Loraine Abellana, Florence Joy Ty and Marla Arielle So. The little ones included Vince Anthony Medija as the ring bearer and Hailey Maree Jaranilla, Lyanna Gerone Ty and Ainsley Catrice Arcellana as the flower girls.

To complete the entourage, the secondary sponsors were Michael Angelo de Cadiz and Ma. Andreameda Catubay for the candle, Jaime Antonio Medija and Maria Anna Karenina Zosa for the veil and Jim Anthony Uy and Aimee Almeida for the cord.

The reception, gorgeously adorned by Pink Flora, was held at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel. It was made extra special since this was the first wedding celebration of the groom’s maternal side. The bride’s cousins then came up with some wonderful presentations. The couple hilariously admitted that their relationship is based on contracts. First came the employment contract followed by a marriage contract, and never would Clarson and Tina thought that they would end up together! Life is just too full of surprises!

Congratulations, Clarson and Tina, may you have many more blessings to come! The couple has also planned a dream honeymoon in Singapore or a romantic setting by the beach. (THE FREEMAN)
