Bijoux Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Bijoux Cebu may not be something that trips off  the tongue like a household name, but the buzz for its third year of showcasing Cebuano artisans in the field of fashion accessory is something noteworthy. With its recent Go Green mantra showing social consciousness, the gala presented the de rigueur pieces (for the fashion cognoscenti) vis-à-vis designer collections from Cebu’s respected names in fashion — Arcy Gayatin, Edwin Ao, Joy Bernaldez, Jun Escario, Oj Hofer, Vania Romoff and Philip Rodriguez.

The abovementioned pillars of the fashion arena unveiled an Elements-inspired collection shown at the newly renovated Capitol Social Hall thru the efforts of its biggest supporter, lady governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Bijoux Cebu gathered buyers and chic clienteles from all over the globe particularly from the recognized fashion capitals. The designers merged their elegant evening experiences with a pair and some more, of hard-edged Earth, Wind and Fire inspirations: flowy draped jersey beige dresses from Arcy Gayatin matched with Ferimar’s silver and white neckpieces and clutch bags. The other featured designers’ collection did their dance between hard and soft, fantasy and reality, with nary missed steps. Both beautiful and wearable was a corset and voluminous skirt in blanc et noir by Jun Escario finished by bejeweled chunky pieces by Avatar. That goes the same for Edwin Ao’s and Vania Romoff’s wool cutting edge separates and draped togas, respectively. Sizzling with modernistic glam were earth inspired pieces by Philip Rodriguez accessorized by Bon Ace aptly called, what else, “The Urban Jungle!” (THE FREEMAN)
