DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines – The founders’ week celebration of Silliman University (SU) also means reunions for many of its alumni. This includes the different alumni of one of the oldest private high schools in the city, Silliman University High School.
Last August 27, SUHS Class of 1976 held their class gathering at Don Roberto’s Restaurant, a step away from the university’s symbol, the Gate of Opportunity.
Just like any reunions, it allowed the members of the class to shed off the role that it currently plays and relive the friendship and memories that were formed more than three decades ago.
The class produced many prominent personalities in the world of politics and business including the night’s host, Jocelyn Sy-Limkaichong, who is currently a member of the House of Representatives representing the first district of Negros Oriental, and Ricky Gonzales, mayor of the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental.
