Ikebana Cebu Chapter Now 40 Years

Ikebana International Cebu Chapter 145 incooperation with SM City Cebu, celebrated its Ruby Anniversary (40 years of existence) with a Pasundayag – an exhibit of varied flower arrangements. The three-day exhibit of beautiful and meaningful flower arrangements plus the presentation of prized collections was held at the Atrium C of SM City Cebu last month.

Guest of honor during opening day was Japanese Consul Toshio Okajima. He was assisted by Margie Sy – Cebu, Evangeline Chang – Manila, Zenaida de los Santos – Davao and Wancy Jumarea – Cagayan de Oro. Garbed in their elegant ruby red gowns (some wore red Maria Clara-inspired outfits and others in ternos – the ladies showed us their respective flower arrangements.

Ikebana – Cebu Chapter’s officers are: Margie Sy – president, Edith Caseñas – 1st vice president, Juliet Basa – 2nd vice president and recording secretary, Gemma Castro – treasurer, Norma Sanchez – corresponding secretary and Asian liaison officer. Members of the board are: Zelia Borromeo, Corito Abalos, Mariter Klepp and Helen Yap. Adviser is Carmen Go.
