CEBU, Philippines - Banking on more than 50 years of tested business experience and solid relationships, local entrepreneur Jojo Ong is poised to undertake a new venture in Cebu.
Innoland Development Corporation, the newest real estate player in Cebu was launched in a grand ceremony last February 5 at the TG Tower rooftop in Asiatown I.T. Park.
The man behind TG Universal, Ong together with his family has succeeded in numerous ventures. They started with the business of trading commodities, and today they have stayed the longest in locally consolidating scrap metal and exporting to some of the biggest steel companies in Southeast Asia. From this, they have branched to various other businesses including fuel, construction and commercial real estate.
Emphasis on customer satisfaction is central to their way of doing business.
“Based on our experience, we have learned that there is no compromise on meeting customer requirements,” Charles Vincent Ong, a mechanical engineer and Jojo’s eldest son, as well as chief operating officer of Innoland, said.
“One of the most important things I learned from my father and grandfather is adapting the long-term philosophy of doing business. To be able to do this, you have to have a win-win situation in dealing with people,” Charles added, “In running the business, it’s not just a matter of making profit, it’s about delivering our commitment to our customers. That’s what makes them happy. That’s what sustains the business relationship for the long term.”
Their commercial real estate projects include the Ong Tiak Building along General Maxilom Avenue and the Synergies Building (occupied by Sykes) in Mabolo. Their latest landmark is the TG Tower in Asiatown IT Park – the biggest commercial building in Cebu in terms of gross floor area.
The quality of their products and service they provide is proven in the testimonies of satisfaction from their clients.
Cebu had bested 62 other cities around the globe to be one of the two locations by an international company. In Cebu, the global finance shared services center of the multi-national company Bombardier Transportation chose TG Tower as its base.
Bombardier general manager and director of finance accounting and reporting Heiko Kafer explained that only this building was able to meet the complex requirements of their varied operations.
“Their commitment to excellence and service is seen from the senior management to all the employees. Based on our expectations, they even ‘over delivered’,” Kafer said.
“They are easy to talk with and very flexible. With their commitment to safety, their willingness and delivering on time in quality and budget, I am confident that TGU was the right choice,” he added.
Levi Villanueva, Sr. Vice President of Union Bank Philippines, gave praise to Jojo Ong’s way of doing business. One of the advantages he emphasized, is the insight to build strategically located properties.
“This is the third branch we have located in with the group of Jojo Ong, and we have always enjoyed doing business with them because they are very professional and easy to deal with,” said.
The success of these buildings has given Ong the confidence to venture into real estate as a developer. “I believe that the real estate industry is a fast growing business. We will come in with innovative new products and make sure to give Cebuanos not just the usual products,” Ong said.
“As a Cebuano, I know that we are a very discerning market who expect superior value for our money. That is what we bring in. Not the frills, but what matters most. We will give our customers the essentials that really matter,” he said/
Innoland Development Corporation is expected to bring in a refreshing new play in Cebu’s real estate industry with the launch of its inaugural projects.
