Fully-loaded February

CEBU, Philippines - Unexpectedly, February came with fancy fairs that made the entire month absolutely fully-loaded! I tell you, it was the longest 28 days I have experienced.

While the entire city was abuzz with Valentine’s Day and the Chinese New Year, which fell on the same day, I was just at the Coriander Restaurant at the Crossroads for its grand opening. Young chef and proprietor Sheldon Jega brings to Cebu authentic Singaporean-Indian home cooking. This is definitely one restaurant that every gastronome has to experience.

Prior to the double celebration was another double celebration! Vudu played Cupid for partygoers with its annual Traffic Light Party. Yes! It was a “Go” for those donned in green, “It’s Complicated” for those in yellow and “Forget about it” for those in red. Leave it up to the club to pump up the city’s nightlife, which continued to its 9th year anniversary bash. More power!

Then, the vaginas came! Crystal Cavalier Production’s annual staging of the wittingly funny Vagina Monologues once again gave an orgasmic performance with a full house standing ovation. The show was for the benefit of the V-day organization. Congratulations to the cast and crew whom I’m proud to be part of for the past five years.

Finally, a trip to the Capital for a full weekend was way out, off my comfort zone (yes, I’m one of those who aren’t too fond of bustling Manila). But leave it up to Monina Blanco’s convincing powers to whisk myself to Manila and stay there for more than 24 hours. Well, I couldn’t miss out sharing this very important event. It was Monica’s 18th! And it was definitely a noteworthy weekend in my diary. Thanks, Mons!
