CEBU, Philippines - The name itself evokes a certain specialty. Oyster Bay, the newest restaurant in Bridges Town Square in Mandaue City, is buzzing its way to the dining scene, highlighting seafood offerings. Take your pick from the Catch of the Day menu where random photos of frozen seafood options are displayed on the video monitor, or from the Live Seafood section where crustaceans and fishes are organically kept in the aquariums. Chefs are on post to cook your catch according to your preference – steamed, baked, grilled, etc. Proprietor Eddie Alegrado assures that the water used in the aquariums goes to a filter to purposely clean it.
Oyster Bay dons a look reminiscent of a Caribbean beach resort with white sand at the front area and a long stretch of waterway that blend with the tropical-themed interiors. A full bar also operates to complete one’s beach party. Not only does Oyster Bay whip up delectable seafood fares but also Filipino favorites that never fail to tickle the taste buds such as Crispy Pata, Laing, Bicol Express, among others. It’s open from 10AM to 2PM; 6PM to 10PM daily. — Jen F. Vega
