CEBU, Philippines - The Northwing of SM City Cebu, with the support of the Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc. recently launched the event Cebu, Cebu which featured the best of Cebu, from fashion, furniture, food, music, and faith.
Highlighting the event was the launching of the ad campaign My Cebu, My SM which featured the Aldeguer brothers - Chris, Jay, Michael, and event specialist Teresin Mendezona. The ad of the Aldeguer brothers and the story of Teresin Mendezona was exhibited and was published in national and local papers. The Aldeguer brothers, who are all successful entrepreneurs in their different line of business, showed to the Cebuanos why they love their very own Cebu and their SM. Mendezona, meanwhile, shared that there is so much to celebrate in Cebu - its beaches, world-class products, its food, and the people.
Guests during the launch included Cebu City First Lady Margot Osmeña, Arts Council of Cebu Foundation pioneers Petite Garcia and Elvira Luym, fashion designers, artists and portraitists, businessmen, affiliates, to name a few. The launch was led by SM Prime Holdings Vice-President Marissa N. Fernan and Vice-President for Publicity Millie Dizon.
Cebu’s pride Raki Vega, Eva Santos and Dulce sang timeless Cebuano classics, while fashion designer Philip Rodriguez showcased his designs in a fashion show together with the Peace Philharmonic Double-Stringed Quartet.
Exhibits at the Northwing Atrium include the jewelry designs and collections of Annie Chen - Asia’s dazzling jewelers, furniture designed by internationally acclaimed furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue, the exclusive paintings of portraitist Romulo Galicano, photos from the book Cebu, Pride of Place by master photographer E. Billy Mondoñedo, the collections of fashion czar Philip Rodriguez which showcased his colorful designs for the Search for the Sinulog Festival, and the food display of Raki Urbina, executive chef of Cafe Laguna.
Guests enjoyed sumptuous cocktails with true Cebu food offerings such as the dinuguan, buko juice, suman, siakoy with choco glaze, bam-i, among others.
The exhibit runs until January 17, 2010 at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.
