CEBU, Philippines - Aboitiz Power Corporation, incorporated on February 1998 as a holding company for the Aboitiz Group’s investment in power generation and distribution, recently launched Cleanergy, its new brand of energy taken from clean and renewable sources, at the Casino Español de Cebu.
On hand to warmly welcome invitees who represented different sectors in the community were Aboitiz Power Cebu CEO and president Erramon Aboitiz, vice chairman Jon Aboitiz, and Aboitiz Construction Group CEO Roberto Aboitiz. Guest of Honor and keynote speaker Governor Gwen Garcia arrived shortly thereafter.
Erramon Aboitiz, in his focused and clear-cut speech had this to say, “Cleanergy is our commitment to leave a lighter impact on the earth’s climate and help sustain its energy resources for the future. Cleanergy is about responsible energy sources and we have that in our portfolio with our very strong hydro background and now geothermal. Once open access becomes effective, we will go out to the market with Cleanergy, making it accessible for all customers to adopt this brand of electricity.
“We envision a sustainable future with Cleanergy where businesses and people power their activity with clean and renewable energy, whether it be houses, malls or buildings,” he added.
Governor Garcia for her part emphasized not just the launch of a new brand of an old institution, but more importantly their renewed commitment to the long haul with heavy investments in clean, renewable energy. All of these at a critical time when power needs are increasing with continuous economic growth and expansion in Cebu.
The new brand is driven by what the future requires from the company and that is to keep finding effective solutions to meet the country’s demand for more power, and finding ways and means that will protect the environment and conserve the earth’s limited resources.
Aboitiz Power and its partners represent the largest private renewable energy producer in the country with several hydro and geothermal assets in its generation portfolio.
