CEBU, Philippines – Walking into the Microtel Resort Mactan, located along Punta Engano Road, you will find yourself in the charming hotel lobby facing the beachfront, decorated with modern designs and furnishings. First impressions last and they did for me – I have already been back a few times since my first visit. Exclusively designed by Kenneth Cobonpue, the very accommodating Christine Solomon (Sales Admin/Sales Secretary) gladly gave us a tour of the hotel plus a short overview.
Enjoying the summer, we settled in their little resto-café that serves appetizing starters (a range of different oriental choices), juices and shakes. Best to sit by the rattan basket-looking chairs packed with orange pillows or by the sun umbrellas for a good sea view.
Having such a fantastic layout, Microtel Resort Mactan offers three types of rooms – standard, premium and suites–all beautifully designed and equipped with chiropractic mattresses for health purposes, as well as comfort for the guests. The resort is complete with many activities, as well – beach volleyball, swimming lessons, water sports (kayak, water bikes, banana boat and jet-skiing), island hopping or scuba diving. Other facilities and services include outdoor massages, a beach bar, lobby shop, function rooms, internet access, fax and postal services.
In this resort, I have come to love the hotel ambience and simplicity, as well as its highly trained staff. It is where I found quality that I reckon many can afford to enjoy.
