CEBU, Philippines – At 8:30 in the evening of March 28 – Saturday, numerous countries and millions of individuals across the globe will be participating in EARTH HOUR, a 60-minute international event whereby all lights and non essential electrical appliances will be turned off in households and businesses to promote electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions. This movement hopes to send a powerful national and global message that it is possible to take action against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced – Global Warming.
A repeat of last year’s Spirit to Serve the Community activity, Cebu City Marriott Hotel will be joining EARTH HOUR by turning of a number of lights in the lobby, food outlets and our lighted signage from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. We invite the public to join by turning off their lights and other electrical appliances as well. You may dine under the stars at the Pool Bar with our Barbecue Buffet or by candlelight at the Garden Café (Seafood Buffet) and Palm Lounge.
We thank you for supporting this very worthwhile endeavor. If you have any suggestions to make this event more interesting and successful, please let us know. We all share one planet and we need to do all we can to help preserve it. We can make EARTH HOUR happen if we work together.
