David Pomeranz at Waterfront

Internationally-known balladeer and king of hearts David Pomeranz will be in Cebu Friday, February 27, at 8 P.M. and will entertain his fans with his scintillating post-Valentine concert at the Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Special guest in this concert is Chadleen Lacdo-o, an Operation Smile beneficiary some years ago.

Presented by Operation Smile International Philippines and dubbed “In Our Hands,” the proceeds of the concert will go to the various medical missions of Operation Smile in the country, including the Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung Charitable Foundation, Inc. in Cebu, which hosts the mission for the 12th time.

Ticket prices are at: VIP reserved – P5,000; Gold reserved – P3,000; Silver reserved – P2,500; Bronce – P1,500; Orchestra – P1,000 and Balcony – P600.

And speaking of Operation Smile… 54 foreign doctors, nurses, dentists, anesthesiologists and many others are arriving today, Feb. 19 at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. MSYCFI Chairman Kit Yeung will lead the directors in welcoming the foreign and Manila volunteers headed by Dr. Han Kai, plastic surgeon from OPSmile China. Screening period is from Feb. 20 to 21 and surgery starts on Monday, Feb. 23 to 27 at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

During the culmination of St. Theresa’s College- Cebu Diamond Jubilee celebration, some of the alumnae were recipients of the St. Therese of Avila Award for their exemplary role in community development. Led by Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia, the other awardees were: Laurice Guillen (represented by Perla Capangpangan), Norma Sonfo Borromeo, Marilu Briones Chiongbian, Melva Rodriguez Java, Agnes Almendras Magpale, Ingrid Sala Santamaria, Delia Zosa Mediano, Delia Alino Villacastin and Mercedes Aseniero Solon.
