The Importance of Marriage

Marriage is seemingly so popular, but many of the common reasons for marrying are pushy parents, friends who seem to be doing it, biological clock , boredom, loneliness or just for the show! But whatever it may be, we can all agree that marriage

is not a joke!

I have recently been reminded of how some people can take marriage for granted. In disgust, I noticed that an acquaintance of mine, who has a great job, a wife and two beautiful children, had openly discarded these facts by seeing someone else. To me, he is a disgrace and I am not sorry for feeling so strongly about it!

“For better for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part.” But do these vows not mean anything to some? These are not just mere words to be said, only to be broken. Somehow, it’s true that life makes people who they are, but more importantly, it also makes people do what they do.

Marriage is not just the exchanging of rings, vows and signing a paper but a lifetime commitment that two people make to each other. At this point, a married woman myself, I feel that we should all ask ourselves if we can commit 100 percent.
