Just when I thought that Cebu was becoming void of worth-the-dressing-up-soirees, I got an invite from my utterly fabulous friend, Jude Bacalso, to a launch party of Nokia’s newest music-oriented mobile phones out in the market. I was to gather my closest and most stylish friends, along with the many others invited, to make sure that this was going to be THE party of the month, if not the entire season. So as not to disappoint, we all arrived, in full “blings” and the highest heels, ready to party.
To celebrate life and its universal music, Nokia launched four new must-have phones for the eternally expressive and cosmopolitan Cebu society, such as the Nokia 5220, 5310, 5320 and 5610 units. These new phones will certainly hype up one’s busy lifestyle and won’t dampen anyone’s fashion-savvy forms. To say the least, Nokia certainly knew how to throw one heck of an event! Not only did they transform Loft into a three-level party scene, they also flew in the best of Manila’s DJs to keep all lucky and privileged attendees dancing to contagious beats. Seriously, there was not a pair of still stilettos or leather shoes in the house. And like I’ve always insisted, a party would never be complete without a flowing supply of wine and inebriating cocktails. That much, Nokia made sure everyone was happy and was holding a glass or two. Sipping my moet, looking over the crowd, this was a vivid image of what those little mobile phones were supposed to be all about. It’s designed to show us that one lifetime’s too short to be missing out on what the world is itching to give us a taste of and much more. Life is one big party and we all need to be dancing blissfully to its beats. And who said Cebu doesn’t know how to kick it and have fun? Anyone care to be in our guest list?
