"They say that a good thing never lasts and then it has to fall. Those are the people who do not amount to much at all.” So goes Madonna's latest single Give it to me.
Madonna is one of those people who need no introduction. Her entrance into the music scene in the 1980s sparked a revolution, a dedicated following of fans who respected who Madonna was and what she stood up for. Songs like Like a Prayer, Papa Don’t Preach, Vogue, Material Girl and a plethora of others have become nothing short of legendary.
She's a no-holds barred go-getter who makes eyes pop out as she reinvents herself over and over again. Capitalizing on this skill, she fans the blur between reinventing her stage persona and reinventing her family life as we discover yet another unconfirmed gossip of her alleged affair with Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez. Us Weekly magazine reported the two started hooking up after Rodriguez attended her April 30 concert in New York. The two may have been easily linked with a "middleman", Guy Oseary, manager to both celebrities.
Reports claimed that Alex paid late-night visits to Madonna's New York apartment, something they both denied, and that the pop superstar's marriage to film director Guy Ritchie is essentially over.
When it comes to affairs of the heart, it seems, whoever the Material Girl is linked with makes headlines, regardless of whether or not they are confirmed romances or mere rumor. Since she first burst on the scene in the early 1980s, Madonna has reportedly coupled with a laundry list of artists, actors and athletes, men and women, A-listers and unknowns (that is, until she started dating them).
Madonna has found a way to mingle her many relationships with her career ascent and her family goals. She reinvents rather than reapplies herself to the commitment. Perhaps her constant reinvention which is adaptive in professional life that makes her so popular is maladaptive in her personal life.
And if divorce with Mr. Madonna (Guy Ritchie) may well be underway she'd better be ready with her prenup files. But rumor has it that she hasn't got one. This means, Ritchie could get half of her marital assets in no time. So if Madonna grew by, say, $50 million from 2000 to present, he'd get $25 million.
But Madonna strongly denies all allegations saying she has no plans of getting a divorce with husband Ritchie.
Meanwhile, she's busy cavorting with her performing bandwagon for her Sticky and Sweet Tour later this year which will include a video segment with pop princess Britney Spears. Madonna's tour launches on August 23 in Wales.
