Sony Ericsson, my favorite mobile phone brand, recently opened its second Concept Shop in Cebu at the SM Northwing’s Cyberzone with a very fitting and interesting highlight.
The works of three of Cebu’s premier photographers, namely Erwin Lim (my favorite photographer and dentist, too!), Danny Ybañez and Benjie Ordoñez were featured to celebrate Cebuano creativity. The three went around the city with a 5-megapixel Sony Ericsson K850i Cybershot phone each and they took pictures based on the theme “Lifestyle: Cebu.” Their photos were presented to the public in an exhibit at the hallway in time for the shop opening.
Into the scene, too, were fashion designers Edwin Ao and Edwin Alba who did an on the spot draping in front of all the guests. The designers were listening to their fave music played on the Sony Ericsson W960i Walkman phone.
Cebu City Councilor Jack Jakosalem, a music aficionado, did the honors of cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Sony Ericsson Philippines’ “biggies” were in town for that significant affair.
Congratulations and more power!

And talking about telecommunications, I could not let pass some great news that radio listeners deserve to get. The long-running radio program of my father, former Cebu City Councilor and Vice Mayor and veteran broadcaster, Vicente “June” Kintanar Jr. can now be heard over the most friendly and all-powerful AM station, “radio fuerza” DYRF starting June 2 as a station opener from 5:15 to 6:00 a.m. Dubbed “Mga Hunahuna ni June Kintanar,” the general, non-partisan commentary tackles current events – local, national and international – with news updates from DYRF’s dynamic news team. So, to all June K avid listeners, tune in to 1215 in your AM radio dial.
