Festival of Flowers goes into high gear

Quota International of Metro Cebu, a community service club affiliated with Quota International, Inc. of Washington D.C., USA, is currently in high gear toward the culmination of its major fund-raising project that is a first of its kind in Cebu -- The Festival of Flowers 2008.

Twenty-five different varieties of flowers, each represented by a Princess, will vie for top honors in a popularity contest that will culminate on May 10 in a coronation ceremony at the Laguna Garden Cafe.

The top Princesses will join the court of a Festival of Flowers Queen.

The coronation and presentation of winners will be preceded by a Thanksgiving Mass at the Blessed Pedro Calungsod Shrine at the Archbishop's Palace at 4 p.m.

A motorcade follows, taking the route to Fuente Osmena and then on to the Ayala Business Park where the Laguna Garden Cafe is located.

Proceeds of the undertaking will fund the numerous projects of Quota International of Metro Cebu, such as a daycare and feeding center, a hearing-impaired assistance program, and helping build the Blessed Pedro Calungsod Parish Church in Cantabaco, Toledo City.
