With its continuing quest for excellent Filipino hospitality, Kabayan Hotel remains true to its mission of helping Filipinos find a comfortable, clean and safe place to stay.
And in celebration of its sixth year in the hospitality business, Kabayan Hotel, a three-star hotel with a Department of Tourism (DOT) accreditation, launches new services in Cebu City.
To attract more customers and increase its market share, Kabayan Hotel offers a new offering for budget-conscious businessmen.
Called Pads, this new product is a new type of accommodation divided into two. Pad 1 will showcase one single-sized bed in a seven-square-meter room while Pad 2 will feature two single-sized beds in a room with an 11-square-meter floor area.
Joselito F. Felipe Kabayan Hotel Property General Manager, stressed that larger rooms will not be a priority as these businessmen would just need a place to stay after a busy day.
"This is a very economical way in hotel room accommodation for the traveling businessmen or corporate people from small and medium enterprise (SME) category. It is clean, safe, secured," he assures.
Both pads are designed with individual room air conditioning system, cable television, telephone, private toilet and bath with 24 hours running hot and cold shower. WiFi internet facility and working table will be set-up in the study room. Working lounges are provided as well to accommodate business meetings and interviews.
"For a one-night stay, Pad 1 will cost Php 800 while Pad 2 is Php 1,200. Complimentary breakfast is included in the rates," Mr. Felipe adds.
Along with the launching of the Pads comes the unveiling of the Kabayan Hotel's new building and expansion of its facilities in Pasay City.
Originally, Kabayan Hotel in Pasay City has 110 rooms. Now, they have added 153 rooms more to accommodate increased clientele.
They've put in more types of accommodation: The Family Room, Deluxe Room and Superior Room. The Family Room caters to families, showcasing two single beds and a queen-sized bed, 3-passage toilet (for tooth brushing, shower and restroom purposes) while the Deluxe Room features an 80" x 80" bed that would fit four people and a bath tub in the toilet facilities.
Moreover, Kabayan Hotel is giving their honored guests a free Klub Kabayan Kard (KKK) which gives benefits and discounts such as 20 percent to 30 percent off rack rates (for hotel accommodation only), 10 percent off on a la carte Menu, 10 percent off on massage service, 10 percent on bill of lakbay alalway center/business center, free inbound airport transfer for Pasay branch and bus transfer for Cubao branch and welcome drinks.
These improvements are the results of the feedbacks from their customers.
As Mr. Felipe puts it, "Hindi lang basta naming inimbento 'to (we didn't just invent this), we got the ideas from our customers. Through these new offerings, we hope to provide more comfortable rooms and invaluable service for our clients."
Having entered in the hotel business for six years, Kabayan Hotel proved that they are "Laging binabalikan, mahirap iwanan." (People want to come back, hard to leave behind).
True enough, Mr. Morris Acriche, a Cebu-based businessman and a regular client of Kabayan Hotel for five years now, attests how efficient Kabayan Hotel is.
"Every time I go to Manila for a business trip, I stay in Kabayan Hotel. Their location is very accessible. It is near MRT and LRT stations. Plus, the service is great. The staff is hospitable and friendly. And the prices are cheap, so it's very economical," Mr. Acriche testifies.
Mr. Felipe confirms how they stand out. "Kabayan Hotel first introduced the concept of bayanihan room where guests can avail of dorm style accommodation," he pointed out.
"Kabayan Hotel also offers Meet and Greet service where we pick-up guests from the airport and bring them straight to the hotel."
Meanwhile, in a graphical presentation, Media Representative Jake Mercado II shows that Cebu provides 5-6 percent of the sales of Kabayan Hotel. That is why the thought of expanding their business in the Visayas, in Cebu specifically, is not far behind. Mr. Felipe says it is in the planning stage already and that they'll be happy to serve the Cebuanos, as well.
"This is our way of saying thank you to Cebuanos," Mercado added.
The success that Kabayan Hotel is now experiencing is overwhelming, knowing that six years ago, the company once managed a large chain of motels in Manila.
But when the owner of the company became Christian, he began closing down the motels (out of the original 16 outlets, three motels are yet to be closed due to employees consideration) and shifted into hotel business last January 18, 2001.
Reward is indeed given to those who deserve it because right now, Kabayan Hotel has been quite successful these past six years.
After all, they always treat their guests as VIP (Very Important Pinoy), giving them reasonable prices, safe and clean accommodation and genuine Pinoy hospitality.
Kabayan Hotel has branches in Pasay, Cubao and Caloocan and is part of the Legend Hotel International Corporation which includes the Legend Villas, Legend Palawan and Mabuhay Manor.
The Legend Hotel International Corporation is managed by the Armadillo Group of Companies with Mr. Wyten King as its Chairman.
