With Italy in Spring as the theme for the evening, Pacific Grand Ballroom was specially dressed up for the affair…with silky pink cloths adorning all of the thirty-four banquet tables in the room, a variety of white spring flowers in decorative pots as centerpieces, and the highlights of the evening were the artistic replicas of four of Waterfront’s restaurants gleaming at the sides…UNO, Mizu, La Gondola and Tin Gow, while an exact version of Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino’s Lobby Lounge greeted guests at the entrance. Waterfront Hotels & Casinos corporate allies were treated to choices of Italian cuisine from the La Gondola station personally manned by Italian Chef Vito Froio, and canapés, desserts and salads from UNO, especially whipped up by Executive Chef Anders Hallden, Sous Chef Linda Hou and Pastry Chef Gabriel Garcia. The Japanese corner was Mizu where fresh sushi and sashimi was sliced and rolled fresh the whole evening by Japanese Chef Imamura and over at the Tin Gow corner was Chef Low, giving away cuts and slivers of Peking duck after Peking duck, among other signature dishes from Tin Gow.
The dinner was part and parcel of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino’s "Faces of Culinary Art" campaign, showcasing the faces behind its diverse roster of signature restaurants. The campaign announces the hotel as a Filipino chain hotel with the most number of expatriate chefs, boasting a foreign chef to match each restaurant’s cuisine. These chefs are innovative, dynamic and are committed to taking your dining experience to another level, from simply focusing on taste to integrating elements of visual artistry. Along with the introduction of their chefs was the launch of the Gourmet Elite Plus card, an enhancement to last year’s Gourmet Elite Card. The Gourmet Elite Plus card gives guests a delicious and downright 20 percent off in all of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino’s restos, no strings attached. Guests can sign up for it for free, in any of the restaurants. The Gourmet Elite Plus card is the hotel’s way of thanking its loyal dining patrons and an invitation for others to experience the Faces of Culinary Art.
