Presented by FOOD Magazine, the country’s largest selling culinary magazine, and Magnolia Gold Butter, in cooperation with Alaska Crema, the seminar will include more food styling techniques such as how to style poultry, cakes, pies, and pasta; how to best promote your food products, how to do cooking demonstrations in public, developing and writing recipes, and working on TV commercials. She will also lecture and give slide presentations on what makes food look mouthwatering and appealing.
Based in New York, Mrs. Custer teaches food styling and culinary communications at the Culinary Institute of America and at the New School University in New York City. She has done food styling and/or developed recipes for such big names in industry as Proctor and Gamble, Pillsbury, Tupperware, Campbell’s, Time-Life Books, Readers’ Digest, Nabisco, General Mills, Newman’s Own, Wendy’s, and Cuisinart. Celebrities she has worked with include Julia Child, Debbie Fields, Paul Newman, Eddie Murphy, Dan Akroyd, Fabio, and Patti LaBelle. Her works have appeared in numerous cookbooks, magazines, food labels and packages, movies, TV series, and commercials.
The seminar will be on Wednesday, April 25 at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Salinas Drive, Lahug. Fees are P6,500 for those enrolling on or before March 30, and P7,500 for those enrolling after March 30.
