It's always a cinch that every last Thursday of November, which is Thanksgiving Day in the US, Dr. Letty Du sees to it that all members of the "Habhab Club" go to Temecula for the traditional two-day celebration of Thanksgiving and birthday fete for the celebrants.
So, driving from Abaheim were Jessie and Gina Rama with children Isabel and Vicente; from Cerritos, Dave Bastian with Tony and Connie Chia; Edwin and Rosie Du from Simi Valley, JP and Dee Rama from Monterreu, Vicente and Gemma Yu with children Alec and Alyssa from Orange, Gerry and Fiza Du with Jason and this writer from Lake Forest. Honorees for that day were Fiza, Isabel and Vicente Rama.
The next day, the group had fun persimmons-picking. A week earlier, we drove to a nearby orchard near Palm Springs for some apple picking. Hundreds of cars go there before the autumn leaves begin to fall. We could see the apple leaves starting to get yellow, and later on red, before these would fall completely until the trees become bare. Apple cider was in every store (for the tasting) in the valley and apple pies too were aplenty. Before sunset, hundreds of cars could be seen starting to go back to the city. We really had fun during this day that didn't realize that apples are too acidic and we had more than what we could take. The end result? Hyperacidity ruled over us and overtook our fun day.
