Spanish Festival at Casino Español de Cebu, Inc.

Last year, I had the opportunity to sample Spanish culture at it's finest by participating in the Spanish Trade Fair and Food Festival. This year, with an invitation from Casino Español GM Ed Tongco, I was able to join this elaborate feast that highlights the best of Spanish cuisine and wines.

Preparing the dinner was Chef Ipar Miranda, a Cebuano with strong Spanish lineage. After these festivities, he plans to further his culinary career with more kitchen work under the best Chefs in Spain.

Seatmates in this culinary enchantment were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Escaño, Buddy Veloso, Joey Villareal, Ms. Tina Jordana, Councilor Gabby Leyson, and Bunny Pages. We had a lively discussion on food nuances but some of the topics are better left confidential.

For my beloved and ever faithful readers, the photos show the grandeur of the culinary traditions of Spain and I definitely look forward to celebrate this cherished Spanish tradition in 2007!
