CEBU, Philippines - He made a name for himself as the innocent boy wizard in the Harry Potter film franchise.
But now Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he often turned up to work ‘still drunk’, and can even pinpoint scenes in the movies where he was ‘gone’.
The 22-year-old actor, who has spoken previously about his issues with alcohol, insisted that he never drank at work, but was on occasion under the influence on set.
He said: “I went into work still drunk. I can point to many scenes where I’m just gone. Dead behind the eyes. I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem.”
Radcliffe added to heat magazine: “People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I drank a lot and it was… nightly.”
In a previous interview with ShortList magazine, Radcliffe, who gave up alcohol in August 2010, said that his addiction to alcohol was so bad at one point that he used to black out every time he had a drink.
He said: “Seriously, in the last three years of drinking I blacked out nearly every time. Blacking out was my thing.”
The actor added: “The drinking was unhealthy and damaging to my body and my social life. That’s beyond question.
“I was living in constant fear of who I’d meet, what I might have said to them, what I might have done with them, so I’d stay in my apartment for days and drink alone.”
Radcliffe is currently promoting his new movie ‘The Woman In Black’.
