MANILA, Philippines - Sleeping in drenched clothes and with an empty stomach, living with bugs, mosquitoes and other nasty crawling critters, living with venomous snakes and treacherous snake-like tribe-mates, and cutthroat people out to win the game – some will come undone, others will emerge triumphant and most will figure in shocking revelations during their lowest or most unguarded moments.
It’s going to be a bumpy, hair-raising viewing experience as “Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown”—the biggest, hottest, most explosive season yet—premieres tomorrow, Aug. 30, on GMA Network.
Kapuso star and environmental advocate Richard Gutierrez makes his debut as host of the toughest, most action-packed, and most intriguing reality show in the country, which features 18 celebrity castaways and their quest to bring home the P3 million prize and bragging rights of being first celebrity Sole Survivor.
“With Richard Gutierrez as our new host, celebrities who are not used to a harsh environment as castaways, and bigger challenges, this season promises more excitement and drama,” said GMA Network SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores.
Set at the heart of the Andaman Sea in Thailand, the celebrity showdown features an exciting mix of celebrity castaways who brave harsh living conditions, nature’s deadliest predators, and face their fears.
This season’s castaways include Brapanese model Akihiro Sato, “Mr. Nice Guy”; actor Ahron Villena, “Ang Bolero”; feisty Sexbomb dancer Aira Bermudez, “Dancing Warrior”; sexy actress and hot mama Aubrey Miles, “Ang Pasimuno”; Parokya ni Edgar bassist Buhawi Meneses, “Tribe Leader”; track and field champ Elma Muros, “Strong Mama”; basketball player Ervic Vijandre, “Power Player”; and Born to Be Wild’s resident vet Doc Ferdz Recio, “The Boss.”
