Coincidence?

Was it just coincidence that court sheriffs tried to serve the court papers to James Yap regarding the annulment of his marriage to Kris Aquino at the time he was receiving the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award from the PBA?

I was just wondering because a TV crew happened to be around to record the event. Who tipped off media that the papers were to be served? In the end the summons were not served because James managed to give the sheriffs the slip. In a later phone interview, the basketball star said he did not know that the court officials were looking for him.

On the advice of her lawyers, Kris is tightlipped about the issue. But in her Twitter account, the actress/TV host ticked off this message: "No matter how brave you try to be, a breakup is painful. Quoting again from my love iphone application--when you break up, your whole identity is shattered. It's like death. True, it's hard to get to know myself all over again as just me and no longer part of a couple."

Interviewed in Showbiz Central last Sunday, Annie Yap, James’ mom, revealed that James had gotten a girl pregnant while he was dating Kris. But she added that he had told Kris about it.

Mrs. Yap also admitted she was against the marriage right from the start, and she was angry that James never asked her permission to marry Kris. “As his mother, I should have been informed."

But the mom defended her son from accusations that he was unfaithful to Kris. “If you’re a basketball player, a lot of women idolize you, but that doesn’t mean that my son was playing around.”

Kim Atienza is fast recovering from a mild stroke he suffered last week.

ABS-CBN weatherman, nature advocate and segment host has recovered “99.9%” from the stroke, according to his doctors.

He has to stay a few days more at the Makati Medical for tests, though.

Kim’s dad, former environment secretary Lito Atienza, was amazed at his son’s speedy recovery. “His speech is normal, his thinking process is normal, his movement is normal. But he has to take it easy,” Lito said.
