PLDT myDSL preems "Kinatay," "Engkwentro" in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - PLDT myDSL Watchpad recently held a red carpet Cebu premiere for award-winning Filipino films “Kinatay” and “Engkwentro” at the Marcelo Fernan Press Center.

Seen at the premiere were the directors of the films themselves: Dante “Brilliante” Mendoza, who was awarded best director at the Sitges International Film Festival and at the prestigious Cannes Festival 2009 for his work in “Kinatay,” beating out such distinguished international directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Ang Lee; and the prodigious Pepe Diokno, director of the 61-minute opus “Engkwentro”, who is this year’s Orizzonti Prize Winner at the Venice Film Festival.

Also in attendance were Cebu’s very own indie filmmakers, including Ruel Antipuesto, who is behind the Cannes Official Selection “Sabongero” and several Gawad CCP-awarded films.

The premiere culminated with an after-party at favorite hotspot Vudu.

The premiere was held to highlight PLDT myDSL’s latest innovation, which brings the silver screen straight to your PC screens. Award-winning films can now be exclusively seen on Watchpad’s movie central, myFlicks, all for free to all myDSL subscribers.
