CEBU, Philippines - Sabrina Ruth Bogard bested the contestants of the search for the Hannah Montana New Rock Sensation in SM City Cebu. Bogard got the most cheers from the jam-packed audience at the SM Entertainment Plaza when she showcased her talent in singing. Dressed like a rock star, Bogard followed completely the moves of a young Miley Cyrus.
The contest was in line with the upcoming Hannah Montana The Movie organized by SM Department Store and Disney, and was supported by Cignal Digital TV, Banco de Oro, Toy Kingdom, and Universal MCA Music.
The series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.
The Grand Prize winner will get the chance to win a trip to the US, P50,000 BDO cash card, and TV appearances. Twelve finalists will receive SM Gift Cards, BDO Junior Savings Account, and special gift packs from Toy Kingdom and Universal MCA Music.
The search will also make stops at SM Megamall, SM City San Lazaro, and SM City Pampanga on July 25; as well as SM City Marikina, SM City Clark, SM City Dasmariñas, and SM Makati on July 26.
The Grand Finals will take place at the SM Mall of Asia on August 8, 2009.
