Celebs to grace opening of Belo clinic today

CEBU, Philippines – The Belo Medical Group finally arrives in Cebu as the country’s leading beauty institution opens today its first regional clinic at the Ayala Center Cebu’s expansion The Terraces.

For 18 years now, its founder and medical director Dr. Vicki Belo has carved a name for herself in the Philippine beauty business and is making impressive strides abroad particularly among kababayans. Opening a clinic in Cebu, nevertheless, has been likened by the “Ambassadress of Beauty” herself to starting all over again, as she herself admitted to the Cebu press in a visit late last year. “I feel like I’m starting again, after making a name in Manila. Cebu is an unknown market for me,” Dr. Vicki Belo said of her Cebu expansion, which is a two-story, non-surgical Beauty Clinic that stands on a 180-square-meter area in The Terraces.

But Cebu makes an obviously good choice, as apart from her already growing Cebuano clientele who would travel all the way to Manila to avail of her clinic’s services, not to mention the island-province’s steady tourist influx, Belo also shares an affinity with Cebu, as she was born here and fairly understands and speaks the local dialect. 

Since the Belo Medical Group boasts of an impressive roster of high-profile celebrity endorsers, fittingly so, her latest Beauty Clinic is sure to open with a bang, as personalities such as multi-awarded veteran actor Christopher de Leon, award-winning actress Claudine Barretto, television host Donita Rose and “pop heartthrob” Christian Bautista will be flying in to grace the grand opening. 

The “Doctor to the Stars” has also said in a previous interview that all her endorsers are long-time customers, citing “Asia’s Songbird” Regine Velasquez as an example, who was her first-ever celebrity endorser Dr. Belo was still relatively new in the industry.

From late last year to early this year, the Belo Medical Group has already made its presence felt by becoming the Ms. Cebu 2009 co-sponsor through Belo Essentials—its affordable skin care line under the Intelligent Skin Care, Inc., and the country’s second best-selling beauty product line after barely two years of introduction to the market. Dr. Vicki Belo herself gave the Ms. Cebu 2009 candidates pointers on beauty and well-being.
