"Songs Without Words" piano concert soon in Cebu

Rudolf Golez plays in Cebu on January 23, 8:00 pm at the Marcelo B. Fernan Cebu Press Center, Lahug, Cebu City.

The piano concert will feature works of Great Romantics – Frederic Chopin, Franz Liszt and Felix Mendelssohn, who is remembered this year as his 200th Year.

As a tribute to F. Mendelssohn, Rudolf will play some of his most loved works, namely, Songs Without Words (Spinning Song and Spring Song) and also one of his great extended works the Rondo Capriccioso. Also featured will be Chopin’s first Scherzo and the Grand Polonaise in opus 22, one of Chopin’s first extended works as well. The finale will be Liszt’s Mefisto Waltz. As a whole the program is meant to highlight the musical style of the early Romantic composers born just one year apart and to give tribute to Felix Mendelssohn for his 200th year this year.

Rudolf Golez makes this first concert in Cebu fresh from his debut at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under Spanish Composer/Conductor Cristobal Halffter.

This event is made possible by the Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc. For ticket reservations please call Gerra at 233-0452 or email artscouncilcebu@yahoo.com.
