Dennis Trillo doesn't mind playing second fiddle

GMA 7 won't give Dennis Trillo an unimportant role in the new series Super Twins that starts airing on Monday, February 12, in the GMA telebabad block replacing Atlantika. The new show features Dennis with Jennylyn Mercado and Nadine Samonte who are both playing the title roles.

Dennis was asked how he felt not being the title-roler, implying that he's not the lead star. "It doesn't matter to me if I am not the lead role. What is important to me is the role. I was challenged by the character that they asked me to portray that's why I agreed to do it," says Dennis who is playing the role of Eliseo, the maestro of the Super Twins. He is a kind-hearted man who accidentally discovers about the girls' superhuman powers and their rings. He becomes interested in their strength and will even be the guide of the twins in harnessing and utilizing their powers.

Dennis had been given good projects by GMA since he moved to the Kapuso Network with successive soaps where he played title roles. The production staff of Super Twins assures that Dennis is playing a pivotal role in the series.
Gary V's wife-manager Angeli Pangilinan hurting?
You must have heard the news or read it somewhere that Angeli Pangilinan, the better half of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, tendered her (irrevocable?) resignation from PAMI (Professional Artists Managers, Inc).

Angeli reportedly told fellow PAMI member Lolit Solis that there were "many other reasons" why she quit the 12-year-old organization, which is deemed to be one of the most powerful blocks in the industry. It was Lolit who named Angeli as the most "plastic" person in the industry when she guested on the 40 Forbidden Questions of Mo Twister's Magic 89.9 program last November. Many believed that Angeli was offended when Lolit labeled her as such.

Then Angeli got involved in a text war with former ward Gretchen Barretto during the height of the issue between Gretchen and Lani Mercado. When this issue with Gretchen started getting uglier and uglier, Angeli reportedly sought the advice of her husband and Gary reportedly told her to resign from PAMI. But you know how it is in showbiz, news run so fast. So imagine Angeli's surprise when the news of her "impending" resignation from PAMI got to the press even before she could tender her resignation.

According to rumors, Angeli was hurt that the news about her resignation from PAMI leaked to the press even before she could hand in her letter.
Not yet signing up with ABS-CBN
Her contract with ABS-CBN has expired but Ai Ai delas Alas is still unsure if she would renew her contract with the Kapamilya Network. She still has to discuss this with her manager Boy Abunda.

"I believe it would be best if I am not tied with a network. It would be easier for me to accept offers, especially if I want to appear in concerts," says the Comedy Concert Queen in an interview last February 6 (Tuesday) at the Klownz Araneta, the comedy bar that she and good friend Allan K own.

"When I was doing Bituing Walang Ningning and which was followed later by a guest role in Super Inggo, I can't just leave unless I do advance tapings. Besides, ABS-CBN doesn't have a new offer for me that's why I accepted offers to appear in Valentine shows and movies. I can accept movie offers because I don't have a contract with Star Cinema," she adds.

Speaking of movies, according to Ai-Ai, they are nearly finished with the principal photography of Ang Cute ng Ina Ko under Viva Films, where she co-stars with Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano under the direction of Wenn Deramas. She also accepted two more movies, both co-starring her with Rufa Mae Quinto, one for Viva Films and the other for OctoArts Films. Both projects will also be directed by Wenn.

The comedienne also happily announced that the tickets to the two-night back-to-back concert with Ogie Alcasid at the Music Museum titled Love to Laugh on February 13 and 14 are already sold out. A repeat of Love to Laugh has already been scheduled on March 9 this time at the Aliw Theater.

On February 16, Ai Ai and Ogie are the special guests in the post-Valentine concert of Rufa Mae and Erik Santos titled When Erik Met Rufa... The Repeat to the Max! at the Aliw Theater.

"Sabi ko sa mag-sweetheart [Rufa Mae at Erik], ilagay nila ako sa gitnang portion ng show dahil may sarili akong post-Valentine concert dito sa Klownz. Kaya pagkatapos ng numbers ko dun, tuloy na agad ako rito. Dito naman, sanay na ang mga customers na late na talaga kami nagsu-show," shares Ai-Ai.

Ai School Musical is the title of her post-Valentine concert at Klownz Araneta, with Mark Bautista and the dance group Maneouvers joining her in the dance concert. "We are going to have a dance revolution from the '50s to the present. I don't know if my energy could hold out 20 minutes of non-stop dancing," she says with a laugh.
