CEBU, Philippines - In its bid to become the number one Smartphone brand in the Philippines, Taiwanese mobile brand HTC takes advantage of the popularity of smartphone usage in the country, introducing more affordable unit choices, and expanding its reach to other urban centers like Cebu.
HTC Philippines country manager Mark Dewey Sergio announced that the company will open more concept stores in the Philippines, following the recent opening of HTC concept store in Cebu located at the Cyberzone of SM City Cebu shopping mall.
Sergio claimed that while the brand is now number one the United States, in terms of smartphone usage, it has captured the Philippine market easily, as it now on the second top brand choice for Filipinos.
The company put its confidence on the quality of the units it introduces, while it has been in the business for over 14 years.
As a brand, HTC has been in the Philippines for three years. This time, he said as smartphone has become popular for high social Filipinos, HTC is going to put its focus on expansion via opening service and concept center outlets around the country.
The Cebu HTC Concept Store is the first it opened in the Visayas. Starting this year and towards 2013, HTC hopes to open up five to seven concept stores nationwide, in addition to its six stores located in Metro Manila.
From as high as P30,000 prevailing rate for smartphone units in the past, HTC now offers as low as P10,000 smartphone units. This is to give opportunity for the mainstream Filipino mobile subscribers enjoy of the smartphone features, specifically the usage of social network access such as Facebook, twitter, among others.
He said the company is confident of double-digit growth for the Philippines for smartphone mobile gadgets, as it is one of the top five social network users in the world. Number seven in Twitter, and top five for Facebook.
The Cebu HTC concept store is managed by retail partner, Aerophones and is HTC’s fourth concept store around the country. Other HTC concept stores are located in Gaisano Mall Davao, SM Mall of Asia, and SM North EDSA.
“The opening of the HTC Concept Store at the SM City Cebu firms up our commitment to continue to expand our retail presence in the Philippines. We believe that the Visayas market is booming and we are here to bring first-hand the HTC experience to the consumers in Cebu and its neighboring provinces,” said Sergio.
The HTC Concept Store, is a one-stop HTC-exclusive shop designed to let customers’ experience the full range of HTC offerings—from interactive product demonstrations, personal consultation with technology-trained staff, to on-the-spot sales as well as being a redemption center for HTC promotions.
The SM City Cebu HTC Concept Store features HTC’s latest product offerings including the newly-launched HTC smartphones, such as HTC Radar, HTC’s first Windows Phone 7 with Mango update; HTC Rhyme, which carries a refreshed HTC Sense experience and a family of integral accessories with advanced smartphone features, and the HTC explorer, an attractive, easy-to-use and affordable smartphones.
