CEBU, Philippines – Economic housing developer, 8990 Housing Development, has assured prospective buyers of the quality of their residential projects, saying the company makes use of the pre-casting technology to monitor the strength of its housing materials.
Alexander Ace Sotto, company senior construction manager for Visayas and Mindanao said 8990 always allocates an area in each of its developments for pre-fabrication of walls.
"We pre-fabricate all the walls to be used for the houses in one area. This way, we are able to monitor the quality of the materials. Pre-fabricated walls of poor quality (crumble) when they are transferred or moved to another location. Thus, if we are able to bring these pre-fabricated walls to the housing site, then they are of good quality," he told The Freeman in an interview.
Sotto said the use of the pre-casting technology also helps the company hasten the completion of their projects without compromising quality. 8990 constructs an average of 80 houses for each project each month or 480 houses a month in its six projects.
Some of the projects simultaneously completed by the developer in Cebu are the New Deca Homes Mactan 4 in Barangay Bankal Lapu-Lapu City ; New Deca Homes Mactan 5 in Basak, Lapu-Lapu and Baywalk in Dumlog, Talisay.
The company has built 130 house and lot units of the 1, 248 target-units of the 9.6-hectare Mactan 4. It has also accomplished 50-percent of Mactan 5 and Baywalk, which will have 1, 036 units when completed in February, 2011. All of the house and lot units of 8990's Deca Homes have an average lot area of 40 square meters and average floor area of 55 square meters. These are also priced at P400 thousand to P1.25 million.
Sotto said the amenities of all Deca Homes include basketball courts, multi-purpose halls, parks and playground, entrance cove, guardhouses and perimeter fences
Deca economic housing is also present in Davao, Deca Resort Residences in Davao and in Iloilo, Deca Home Pavia.
Sotto said 8990 is continuously looking for lots for residential development, especially the southern part of Cebu. The company has two projects in Tungkil and Tunghaan, Minglanilla, south of Cebu. (FREEMAN)
