CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s home grown hotel is setting a trend in the country’s tourism and hotel industry by partnering with a bank for a special treat to its loyal clients.
On August 27, Cebu Parklane International Hotel (Parklane) will launch the Parklane Union Bank Visa card, a partnership between the hotel and the banking arm of the Aboitiz group of companies, Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank)
Parklane general manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan said this partnership boosts the hotel’s thrust of “trying to promote a lifestyle.” This has also allowed the hotel to offer its patrons with a loyalty hotel card and a credit line in one card.
Jaybee Aquino, Parklane’s marketing communications manager, said this co-branding with UnionBank is one of the hotel’s marketing effort.
“Aside from this being a wallet marketing, the Parklane UnionBank visa card is also something new and unique that we can offer to the Cebuanos,” she said on the sidelines of the signing of the memorandum of agreement between the two parties yesterday.
UnionBank senior vice president Manuel Santiago Jr. said that Parklane is the only hotel in the country with a “functioning” credit card that bears the logos of both companies.
“We have the same partnership with a hotel years before but it has stopped functioning. This card functions the same as the normal credit card. But UnionBank has designed a special incentive package specifically for Parklane clients. Every time they use the credit card in their transactions at Parklane, they earn points that correspond to incentives,” he said.
Parklane customers, who use their credit cards in paying for their room stays and functions, can also opt to pay UnionBank on installment basis for a “minimal interest,” Santiago said. – (THE FREEMAN)
