Sony Ericsson brings X10 Café to Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - After its successful run in Manila, Sony Ericsson yesterday launched the X10 Café in SM City Cebu showcasing the X10 mini pro, which is described as “the world’s smallest Android smartphones,” along with the Xperia range of handsets.

The X10 Café offers free coffee to those who would want to experience the features of Sonny Ericsson phones through the model units on display before buying one.

“This is our way of reaching out to the consumers (by letting them experience the products),” Patrick Larraga, Sony Ericsson’s marketing manager said.

The activity, which will run until July 20, was successful in Manila, as manifested in the number of phones sold during the period. X10 Café will also be brought to Davao in the second week of August.

The X10 mini has dimensions of 3.2 by 1.9 by .63 inches, while the X10 mini pro with a slide-out keyboard is 3.5 by 2.05 by .67 inches. Both are approximately the size of a credit card, but have numerous features.

Meanwhile, Sony Ericsson pays tribute to the talents of the Filipino children through the search for Sony Ericsson’s Wonder Kidz, a video contest that aims to discover the country’s “next web sensation.’

Larraga said any 30 to 60-second video of children singing, dancing, acting, playing sports or displaying extraordinary talent can qualify for the search. These videos will have to be uploaded to Sony Ericsson Philippines Facebook page on or before August 31.

“Children can sing, dance or act their hearts out, play sports, express themselves through art or just be fresh, funny or fascinating being themselves,” he told a press conference yesterday to launch the company’s latest Xperia handsets—X10 mini and X10 mini pro.

Larraga said the top 10 “most liked” entries will qualify as finalists for judging.  The winner will get a Sony Ericsson Vivaz with high definition video and P50, 000 cash.
