Cebu Chamber welcomes new members

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry is growing by the year as they just welcomed new members recently that would help the group in its vision of being "the Engine of Cebu's Business Growth towards global competitiveness".

As the biggest and one of the most outstanding chambers in Cebu and in the Visayas with 937 members, CCCI continues to encourage more companies to be part of their group as to help each other in strengthening the potential of each of the members “through advocacy, linkages and synergy for the global competitiveness of Cebu business and its people.”

CCCI inducted 20 new members last Friday at Cebu City Marriott Hotel along with the presentation of the chambers’ accomplishments in the past three months.

New members are Agri-world Philippines, Anatolia Incorporated, Anita’s Home Bakeshop, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Cebuano Headway Unlimited, Crew Asia Incorporated and Evergreen Lending Company.

Also new to the group were Exist Exhibit Systems Technology Corporation, Noa Bizkonzult, Optimized Selections, PDY Metal Recycling Junkshop, Sta.. Rosa Marine Resources, Sterling Bank of Asia, S-Technology Incorporated, Weathercraft, MSY Holdings Corporation and Jolli Traders International Incorporated.

CCCI Vice-president for External Affairs Ted Locson said that welcoming new members is part of the chambers’ efforts to help each other strengthen and update each of their potentials in order to meet the changing demands of the business.

Locson said that there is a need to adopt to the changes especially with the presence of the financial crisis that forced companies to shift strategies in order to cope with the turmoil.

But he said that through help and guidance and presence of partners, “we could be springing back from the gloom that the world has been.”

CCCI has business advocacy services that “identifies concerns, issues, programs and services where CCCI can be of assistance not only to its members but also to the entire business community. It functions to develop viable programs and strategies to make the Chamber a major catalyst in the promotion of a healthy business environment.”

The chamber aims to further help more of their members and the business community by continuously partnering with local, regional and international organizations as well as the local and national government.— AJ de la Torre
