Southern Industrial Gases to invest P1B in Cebu

Southern Industrial Gases Philippines Inc. (SIG), member of The Linde Group and the leading industrial gases company in Visayas and Mindanao has announced the investment of P1 billion for its first cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) plant in Cebu and distribution facilities throughout the region.  The plant was designed and will be manufactured by Linde Engineering and shall be installed and operated by the highly-trained local team from SIG.     

The ASU will produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon that will support the requirements of local industries including shipbuilding, electronics, healthcare and fabrication.  SIG has strong presence in Visayas and Mindanao with total of 21 sales centers serving these various industries. 

This marks the single largest investment made by SIG since its inception in 1993.  SIG managing director, Dennis Jordan, said that SIG is committed to support the development of local industries.  “This investment exemplifies our commitment to bridge the requirements of the local market to the most advanced global technologies of The Linde Group.  We continue to find ways to innovate for and provide reliable and efficient supply solutions to our customers.”
