A relatively young company plans to build an integrated resort and sports facility in Aloguinsan town, in the Southern part of Cebu, which is seen to augment the tourism leisure come-on of the province.
This is so far the first resort that will highlight a shooting range facility that will attract foreign and local sport-shooting enthusiasts.
The King of Kings Sports World and Resort—developed by the King of Kings Sports World and Resort Inc., will build a 6.3 hectare integrated resort and sports facility that will be operational in the next few years.
The shooting range, however, which can accommodate around 1,000 to 1,500 people will be opened by May of this year, said the company’s chairman of the board and chief executive officer (CEO) Reynaldo D. Abad.
The facility will build 20 cottages, and 20 row-of-houses within the development, and it is marketed through membership club packages.
Upon its launching, the company offers the first 777 clients to sign in as members, as Elite VIPs, to enjoy lifetime members with only P100,000 membership fee.
Although the facility is designed for club membership, it is not limiting its bookings to members, but to non-members as well, Abad said.
He said this is the venue where sports-shooting enthusiasts can bring their families, while enjoying their kind of sports.
The Sports World Resort will also build other leisure amenities, such as swimming pools and Spa, Badminton Court, Bike Trail, Boxing, Tennis, among others.
He said the company aims to build a world class shooting range, resort, and sports complex that will help to develop and nurture the talent of any individual by offering excellent facilities.
It will also commission itself in the promulgation of tourism by providing world-class amenities that will attract foreign and local sports minded tourists.
Abad, who has extensive experience in the-shooting field, is a product of the University of Houston-Downtown Criminal Justice Center Law Enforcement Academy, and grand master of the United States Practical Shooting Association, among other affiliations.
The Aloguinsan town is 50 kilometers away from Cebu City.
The resort component of the facility will be constructed immediately after the completion of the shooting range come May 2008, he added.
The company is set to have its ground breaking ceremony next month.—Ehda M. Dagooc
