iComm International bullish of Cebu’s business ambiance

For four years of operation in the country, iComm International shares confidence in the Philippines specifically Cebu, as it continues to avail of the province’s rich pool of local talents.

“But why not in Cebu?  Manila is already saturated. And Cebu has shown us a lot of potential in providing a steady stream of human resources,” iComm International’s Marketing and Communications Manager Orven Enoveso said in an interview.

As Enoveso pointed out, Cebu as opposed to Manila is not yet a congested area for business and that its environment is very much conducive for work. He also added that the city’s infrastructure is very much capable to welcome advancement in technology.

He also added out that they particularly chose to locate their corporate headquarters for their global operations in the Philippines specifically in Cebu as it is emerging as one of the top BPO hosting countries right now. “According to studies, Cebu is the 4th top BPO locations and that is the main purpose why we are here.”

Having started its Philippine operation in 2003, iComm International has since located in Cebu. The company is the corporate headquarters of a multinational group operating with several international affiliates in the USA, Japan, U.K, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.   Their full range of service include: IT, customer, communication, marketing, human resources, financial and administration.

Their international affiliates include: IBC Japan, a global auto exporter of quality used Japanese vehicles and Autoterminal.com group of companies, the international wholesaler and distributor of IBC Japan’s vehicles.

By maintaining their own website, iComm is able to manage the tedious selling process of used Japanese cars and globally, they have had sold a lot already.

Big news of their operations is that they now have managed to aggressively expand in their exportation of cars in the US market for left hand drives. With a bigger coverage of the global market, 60% for right-hand drives and 40% for left hand drives, iComm eyes expansion in their operations worldwide.

Recently, the company moved in the IT Park and expanded overseas and opened a new facility in Bandung, Indonesia. By tapping into new sources of talents they are continuously trying to deepen their current resource pool.

“We position ourselves to compete in terms of having the good people, that’s why we get people who have longer experience in the industries they have worked in,” said Enoveso.

But they expressed that although they are selling cars from Japan, they are an open book in terms of making their business. And even if car smuggling is a hot issue in the country’s auto industry these days, Enoveso said that their sales and revenues are not even affected as they are more geared into pursuing the global market.
