FedEx releases new iPhone, BlackBerry apps

MANILA, Philippines - Sending and tracking packages is now made more convenient for smartphone users in the Philippines.

FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, has released new iPhone and BlackBerry applications and an enhanced mobile website to help customers track, get rates and transit times, schedule a pick-up and find FedEx locations on the go.

With the number of smartphone users in Asia, including the Philippines, forecast to hit 347 million by 2015, the new iPhone and BlackBerry applications and FedEx Mobile website will allow the increasing number of mobile customers to instantly access information on their FedEx shipments through their smartphones. 

In addition to the smartphone applications, anyone with a Web-enabled phone or handheld device can use the FedEx Mobile website to track the status of a package and use My FedEx Tracking for additional shipment details; get a rate quote; schedule a pickup; and find a nearby FedEx location.

“It is our vision to give all FedEx customers across the region and around the globe greater access to our products and services, regardless of their physical location or device,” said David Cunningham Jr., president of FedEx Express Asia Pacific. 

“These latest mobile solutions put us another step closer to achieving that goal, further ensuring an outstanding FedEx experience,” he added.
