It represents a first as a mainstream Bluetooth fashion accessory from a mobile phone supplier.
Crafted from high-quality stainless steel with a silver face, the analog watch will go on sale globally in the fourth quarter with a guideline retail price of approximately 300 euros.
Designed in partnership with watch industry leader Fossil, the MBW-100 has a stylish OLED display beneath the watchs face which shows who is calling. A simple key press on the watch can reject the call, meaning the user can remain in control of his calls in the utmost discretion.
By adding controls to calls and music as well as notification of text messages and a clever out-of-range notification when the user is separated from his phone, the MBW-100 allows more efficient communication.
It also makes listening to music simpler by allowing the user to play, pause and skip to the next track in his phones music player.
The MBW-100 comes in an exclusively designed box with a charging clip, standard charger and user guide. It comes in silver and a limited edition exclusive black variant.
The watch sports a classic design in stainless steel, making it allergy-safe. It is mineral scratch-resistant, and has an antiglare coating, quartz movement and a solid wireless link to the phone.
The watch is also water-resistant, has SMS and MMS alerts, out-of-range warning, auto pairing and a battery indicator. It is compatible with most of Sony Ericssons new models.
The MBW-100 is the latest in a long line of innovations in Bluetooth technology from Sony Ericsson.
From its first commercial Bluetooth headset, through the remote control car CAR-100 to voice dialing and auto pairing, Sony Ericssons commitment to innovation in mobile phone accessories to energize user experience is clear.
