Sony Ericsson K750i cited for imaging

Winning praise soon after its market debut, the two-megapixel Sony Ericsson K750i has been named 2005 Best Mobile Imaging Device in the European Photo and Imaging Awards of the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

TIPA is composed of 31 leading European magazines in photography and imaging from 12 countries and stamps products with its special logo based on quality, performance and value for money.

The TIPA Awards logo is recognized in Europe as an assurance for consumers that they are purchasing the very best product in its category.

TIPA called the K750i a "prime example of such a new generation" of camera phones... It combines an MP3 player with a 4.8mm f/2.8 auto focus 4x digital zoom lens, red-eye reduction function, image editing and a photo album. It delivers good minilab quality pictures up to 10x15 cm print size."

Images are also shared easily via Bluetooth, infrared or USB cable. Based on the same technology used in popular Sony digital cameras, the K750i takes advantage of the imaging know-how of Sony Corp., its parent company.

A variety of features can be selected with a joystick from the "options" menu in the camera mode. The "effects" icon, for example, offers options such as black/white, sepia, negative or solarization. Before shooting the photo, the photographer selects the desired effect and the display instantly provides a preview of the impact it will have on the picture.

The "options" menu includes pre-settable features such as picture size and quality, macro, night mode, camera light, self-timer and white balance, among other modes.

As many as 300 high-resolution photos can be stored in the 32MB internal memory and the 64MB Memory Stick DUO, which is delivered along with the phone. External memory can be increased to 4GB with the appropriate Memory Stick PRO DUO.

A USB cable, delivered along with the K750i, can transmit photos, video and MP3 files to and from a PC at the rapid rate of 12mbit/sec.

This USB cable can be used to synchronize personal contacts, calendar and notes from Microsoft Outlook. At present, this function is only PC-compatible.

No PC is also needed to print photos. Images stored in the camera phone can be sent wirelessly to a Bluetooth photo printer or can be transferred via a Memory Stick to a compatible printer or a nearby photo shop.

The Sony Ericsson K750i also has an FM radio, MP3 player, video recording, streaming and playback, and 3D mobile games. It is now available in accredited Sony Ericsson dealers nationwide.
