Gadget wish list for Christmas

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

It’s already December and we’re all eager to spend the hard-earned money we’ve saved up the whole year or that 13th month bonus that just arrived last week on a new gadget.

If you are still undecided on what to get for yourself, here are several items we recommend you check out and perhaps one or two will catch your fancy.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Samsung continues to improve on their flagship devices every year and this time around the Galaxy Note 4 came out as one of their best.

Sporting a quad-HD high-resolution Super AMOLED screen on a 5.7-inch display, this phablet is powered by an Exynos 5 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It’s bigger, faster and better-looking than any other Samsung handset that ever came out of the Korean giant.

iPhone 6. There’s always a new one every year and the release is always timed during Christmas season. Apple’s iconic smartphone has not lost its charm and continues to become one of the most sought-after devices in the last decade. Great design, good build quality and hardware, plus a massive media and app ecosystem makes for a solid combination in the iPhone.

Whether you get the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 or the bigger 5.5-inch 6 Plus, you’ll never go wrong with the new Apple iPhone.

LG G Watch R. Fancy a smart watch? LG has a nice-looking watch that runs on Android Wear. It syncs with your Android smartphone to extend the capability of the handset.

This timepiece is a combination of classic style and wearable technology. It comes with a lot of sensors like an accelerometer, pedometer and optical heart rate monitor as well as a built-in compass and barometer.

The G Watch R accepts voice commands via Google Now so you can ask it almost anything you want except perhaps to make you a cup of coffee.

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 III. Compact cameras may not be that hot this year but a few of them can still carry their own weight. Set your eyes on the new RX100 Mark III by Sony and you’ll never go wrong.

It’s just a fraction of the price of the more capable RX1 yet performs almost as good, even on low-light conditions.

Sony Playstation 4. This gaming console was released in the Philippines way back in January but it’s still one of the most sought-after toys among gamers young and old.

Play titles are as fun as Just Dance or as hard core as Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto or Far Cry 4. Those who prefer PC games might just be attracted when they find out that Diablo 3 is also available on the PS4.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Imagine 4 million pixels packed in a small display. This Android tablet from Samsung is perhaps one of the best, if not the best, to come out this year.

The Galaxy Tab S is powered by an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 with the more powerful A15 processor running at 1.9GHz. It comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage running on Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The built-in S Pen stylus allows you to sketch and draw to make the most out of your tablet.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3. If you’re looking for a new laptop, why not replace it with a laptop and tablet in one? The third generation of the Microsoft tablet is as powerful as a laptop yet still as portable as a tablet with very long battery life.

Choose from several configurations of a Core i3 to a Core i7 processor, storage between 64GB to 256GB SSD and a hefty 4GB to 8GB of RAM – depending on your budget.
